Everest. It offers wonderful Himalayan scenery, trekkers get to view the majestic Mt. Everest.

They can visit several local Sherpa villages inside the beautiful  Khumbu region with less effort & time. Being a soft adventure trek, an entire family can also begin on this Himalayan journey to Tengboche. They can spend some memorably joyous days in the famous Everest Region of Nepal.

Journey to the Short Everest Base Camp Trek

Kathmandu to Everest base camp in 12 days starts with a Kathmandu city tour and is an Everest short trekking option. We leave the crowded capital city behind and fly off towards the naturally blessed Khumbu region of  Nepal.

After flying for approximately 30 minutes, our flight shall land at the small hill airstrip of Lukla. From here, our short Everest Base Camp trek starts, and begin our trekking experience by heading towards Phakding village.

Passing through dense rhododendron forests, our trail leads us toward Sagarmatha National Park. At Sagarmatha National Park trekkers get to go jungle.  Similarly, they can experience fresh air, scenic mountain views & welcoming rural Sherpa communities along the way.

Later ahead, after crossing numerous suspension bridges, river streams, and small village we arrive at the lively Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar. Here, we plan on spending a day before an attempt to reach Tengboche village the next day.

Upon reaching Tengboche, you can witness a wonderful mountain view of the world’s highest mountain- Mt. Everest (8,848m). Along with this Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and other surrounding peaks. Furthermore, the largest monastery of the Khumbu region is located here which allows you to learn and observe Buddhist cultural practices closely & personally.

Leaving Tengboche behind we trace our trekking trails back to Namche, Phakding and Lukla for couple of days and finally return back to Kathmandu with delightful memories.

    Arrival

    Welcome by our representative at the airport, transfer to hotel in Kathmandu. Later enjoy a Welcome Dinner in the Evening.

  • day 02
    Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley ( Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan City, Swoyambhunath Stupa)

    After having our breakfast, we are going to do some sightseeing activities today. As planned, we will explore some of the most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites inside Kathmandu valley. Upon finishing our tour, we shall then drive back to your hotel.

    Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2850m) and a trek to Phakding (2640m)

    Starting off with a 35-minute scenic flight to Lukla, we leave the capital city behind and head out towards the blessed natural sanctuary of Everest region. Spectacular views of the snowcapped Himalayan mountains greet us as our flight tends to head north-east towards the small hill airstrip of Tenzing-Hillary Airport. Shortly after landing at Lukla (2,850m), we shall gather our remaining trek members and begin our incredible EBC trek with the first steps into the luxuriant Khumbu region. Initially, our winding trail descends down to Chaurikharka and then goes through Cheplung, Thado Koshi & Chhuthawa villages one by one. Continuing on, we traverse amongst a densely forested trek trail & ultimately arrive at the village of Phakding after a short ascent.

  • day 04
    Trek from Phakding to Namche (3450m)

    Waking up with a blissful joy of excitement, we experience our first morning in the heartland of the Himalayas. Soon after finishing our appetizing yet nutritious breakfast, we move down from Phakding and tumble our way towards Bhotekoshi River. Next is the small village of Jorsale which will be reached after crossing a high suspension bridge and walking for about 2 hours alongside a striking trek trail. Before marching forward, we will need to check out our trekking permits at the Sagarmatha National Park check post which is located at Jorsale village. Upon finishing our official formalities, we continue on with our trek and enter the stunning Sagarmatha National Park. Now our trail drops gently down to a long suspension bridge covered with fluttering Buddhist prayer flags. After crossing this bridge, we shall walk for another 2 to 3 hours on a steep Himalayan terrain and later arrive at the outstanding Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar.

    Rest Day at Namche

    As scheduled, today we are planned to stay at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization purposes. Situated at a high altitude of 3,450 meters above sea level, Namche Bazaar is the perfect place to help our bodies acclimatize and adjust to the environmental changes of such high altitudes. Due to change in weather, altitude and the rigorous exercise of walking terrains, a day is taken off the schedule for trekkers to rest and enjoy the sites around Namche Bazaar. During this day, trekkers can hike little up towards the Everest View Hotel for spectacular views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam alongside others snowcapped giants. Lastly, the major aim of this day is to prevent any possible symptoms of High Altitude Sickness which may hamper the remaining trek days.

    Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3860m)

    As the sun shines over the beautiful hills and valleys of Khumbu region, you need to wake up and have your breakfast as we plan on leaving Namche Bazaar today. Following a trail that traverses from Choi Gang to Kyanjuma Foundation, we descent down to a suspension bridge across Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the bridge and passing a few tea houses en route, the trail reaches Phunki Thanga. Pointing towards the next destination, pleasant walk uphill begins that goes through a blended trail of forest and shrubs. And if you are lucky, you can even get to spot Pheasants, Tahr and Deer along the way. At the end of the climb, you will reach Kani which is an arched entrance with ceiling paintings of deities and forms of Lord Buddha. Three hours later, trekkers arrive at Tengboche village and are beautifully presented with one of the best glimpses of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse & Mt. Thamserku, Moreover, the largest Buddhist Monastery of Khumbu region lies here so you may even go and visit the Tengboche Monastery.

    Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar

    We were able to enjoy the most anticipated highlight of our trek yesterday. We got to see a very close up sight of Mt. Everest and many other surrounding Himalayan peaks. Comparatively speaking our trek is going to mostly follow a downhill trail. From this point onward, trekkers can breathe more easily and comfortably as we get lower & lower with each passing step. Later after 5 hours of walking, we arrive at the lively Himalayan town of Namche Bazaar.

    Trek from Namche to Phakding

    Leaving Namche Bazaar, we are going to follow our previous trek route towards Phakding village. But before that you can go for a short stroll around the market areas of Namche Bazaar and do some memorable shopping for your friends & families back home as you will be leaving Namche Bazaar shortly after. Continuing our descent, we pass through several high suspension bridges and densely forested trek trails. And upon reaching Phakding village, we are going to take rest for the remaining day.

    Trek from Phakding to Lukla

    Day nine marks the final day of your trek. After beginning the return trip from Phakding, a journey of about four hours in the wilderness takes you to Lukla. You take the rest of the day for yourself and enjoy the beautiful scenery in the area. Lastly don’t forget to treat yourself with the local cuisine while experiencing the Nepalese hospitality.

    Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

    Today we are going to take a flight back to Kathmandu city from Lukla and end our trek inside Everest region. After landing at the domestic airport of Kathmandu, a representative of Euro-Asia will assist & transfer you to your hotel.

    Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley(Pashupatinath and Boudhanath)

    Before your departure tomorrow, we will be providing you with a one last sightseeing tour around the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. So, just relax and enjoy your last day in Kathmandu. Later in the evening enjoy Farewell Dinner.

    • What’s the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp?

      The ideal seasons to trek EBC are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These months provide stable weather, clear skies, and vibrant landscapes.

    • How long does the Everest Base Camp trek take?

      The standard EBC trek duration is around 12 to 14 days, including acclimatization days. However, variations exist based on individual pace and preferences.
