Annapurna circuit trek is one of the best Himalayan treks. It offers great panoramic views of the entire Annapurna himalayan ranges. It aslo offers the magnetic sight of Mt. Dhaulagiri and other equally magnificent snow peaks. Hiking the Annapurna circuit is a feat in itself.
Trekkers experience the best of greenery, vegetation and terraced fields, and Tibetan plateau along the grand himalayas standing tall on the back drop. Gurung, Magar and Thakali are the main inhabitants of this region.
At higher altitudes the culture and tradition are mostly Tibetan influenced. Passing through Throung La Pass, being at the pilgrimage site Muktinath and mostly creating the adventure on foothills of Annapurna Himalaya are the main highlights of this 15 days trek.
Journey to Annapurna Circuit Trek
Starting with a sightseeing tour around Kathamndu Valley. Then next day we go for scenic 6 hours drive towards our first trekking destination of, Besisahar town.
After having an instant meal, we descend towards scenic village passing through bank of Khudi River. Then we arrive at Bhulbhule. The panoramic views of snow-capped mountains Himalchuli and Nagdi Chuli can be seen from here.
Then we will be trekking further crossing the suspension bridge, enjoying the hot springs and ascending forward takes us to Jagat. Experiencing the Tibetan influenced villages, monasteries and passing through forests, we will leave Jagat back and arrive at the headquarters of Manang, Chame.
So ,trekking further towards Pisang, Manang, Churilatter, Throung Phedi and Throung La Pass, we will be at the famous pilgrimage site Muktinath.
Muktinath holds the great religious importance for Hindus and Buddhists where large number of pilgrims visits the holy temple. Although trekking in these high altitudes is tough where we will take proper precautions and acclimatization.

From Muktinath, with astounding views of landscapes we then trek towards Jomsom through Kagbeni and board a connecting flight to Kathmandu via Pokhara. - day 01Arrival
Welcome by our representative at the airport, transfer to hotel in Kathmandu. Later in the evening enjoy Welcome Dinner.

- day 02Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley ( Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan City, Swoyambhunath Stupa)
After breakfast we are going to do some sightseeing activities today. As planned, we are going to explore some of the most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, evening drive back to hotel.

- day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (820 m AMSL, Duration: 6 hrs)
Following breakfast in Kathmandu, and meeting the crew and team members, the journey to Annapurna Round Trek starts in a bus to Besisahar. It’s a four hour long drive into the meandering highways along the banks of the Trishuli River and Marshyangdi River along the Prithvi Highway, surpassing beautiful land forms and a sharp right at Dumre towards Besisahar, the district headquarter of Lamjung. The drive takes two more hours to reach Besisahar from the diversion at Dumre, passing through beautiful forests and terraced plains on the banks of Marshyangdi River. The team stays the night at Besisahar, enjoying the hospitality of the locals, with great food and spirits on offer.Annapurna round Trek is begins at its midst pace from here onward.

- day 04Trek from Besisahar to Nagdi (930 m AMSL, Duration: 6 hrs)
The Annapurna trek begins northwards following breakfast in the morning and leads to a descent towards a crossing at Pawa Khola in just ten minutes of departure. Khudi is the next destination on the way, which is a decent and beautiful Gurung village, along the banks of the Khudi River in Annapurna Round. The access includes many short-but-steep trails to join the old trail route. Following the trail route, in four hours time, you would reach Bhulbule, at 840 m AMSL after crossing the east bank of the Khudi River. The best views of Himalchuli (7893 m) and Nagdi Chuli (7835m) can be caught From Bhulbule. Continuing towards the trail on the edge of Marshyangdi River, it takes about two hours to reach Nagdi Village, which is a clean and elegant place to stay in.

- day 05Trek from Nagdi to Jagat (1300 m, Duration: 6-7 hrs)
Day five begins shortly after breakfast, heading towards Jagat. After crossing the big suspension bridge over the Nagdi Khola in Annapurna region the trip to Bahundanda takes about two and a half hours, and the trail passes through numerous local tea shops. The Annapurna trek continues steeply dropping through terraced rice fields to reach Syanje in about two hours time. Syanje offers spectacular views of a waterfall and has a few lodges which are located right above the river. Also accompanying the next leg of the trip are few hot water springs, after following the river and gently climbing across the river, which are amongst the numerous hot springs found in this valley, amongst which most remain submerged during monsoon. Jagat can finally be seen above the ridge as the climb gets steeper, but the ascent actually takes about two hours from Syanje.

- day 06Trek from Jagat to Dharapani (1900 m, Duration: 5-6 hrs)
The day begins after breakfast, by crossing the long suspension bridge and with a gradual climb. The wider valley now becomes a narrow gorge with the river thundering through it. Followed by a steep climb, Chamje is just an hour away, and the climb continues for almost three hours before reaching a wide valley, Taal. Taal is the district border between Lamjung and Manang. The local inhabitants are Buddhists of Tibetan ancestry living in houses made up of mud and thatch. The houses have flat roof, rainfall is considerably lower and subtropical vegetation start to give way to the coniferous forests in the highlands. Passing through the Taal valley, full of maize, barley and potato fields, the valley becomes narrow again. Passing through a few lodges at Karte the trail heads northwards to reach Dharapani, signified by stone gateways, characteristic entrance to villages in Manang.

- day 07Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2670m AMSL, Duration: 5 hrs)
The Annapurna trekking trail now swings due west from the ongoing northwards travel, with the route heading towards Chame. Traveling due west, Bagarchhap is an hour away from Dharapani. Bagarchhap offers exotic views of the Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal, and also on offer is the Tibetan influence in the village, there are stone houses with firewood sacked on their flat roofs, and a Buddhist Monastery amidst the coniferous forest above the village. The village also offers some lodging facilities. Continuing on the trail, you would reach Lata Marang after passing through a fair bit of coniferous forest full of pine and fir trees, where you can find a few small lodges as well. Two more hours of trek takes you to Koto Qupar, where a few lodged are available for tourist accommodation. The entry book at the checkpoint is to be signed to continue the trek, and after 30 minutes of walking, a large gate with corrugated iron roof welcomes you to Chame, the district headquarters of Manang.

- day 08Trek from Chame to Pisang (3300m AMSL, Duration: 5-6 hrs)
The trail now continues along the river banks through to Bharatang which is surrounded by apple orchards and accommodates has few lodges. Continue on the trail for 30 minutes taking you through the banks of the Marshyangdi River, cross the river and proceed with the gradual ascent to reach Duku Pokhari in about 30 more minutes. The Annapurna trail now gradually turns planar and you would reach Pisang in about an hour. Pisang offers magnificent views of the Annapurna II and Pisang Peak.

- day 09Trek from Pisang to Manang (3540m, Duration: 5-6 hrs)
Of the two routes available to reach Manang, we choose the lower route to the upper route because of its ease of access and significantly less travel time. We follow the trail through lower Pisang, which is a pleasant walk through the forests, which has gentle climbs in the beginning to encounter a steep ascent to reach the top of the spur. Another mark of Buddhist influence in life, the tall prayer flags and a small shrine, is on view here. Another two hours en route takes you to Humde, which has a remote airstrip for Manage and a small but scattered settlement, which also offers lodging facilities amidst. Humde also offers magnificent views to one of the longest prayer wheel walls in the region, consisting of 266 prayer wheels, running through the center of the village. After an hour on the trail, you would reach Sabjikhola, where Nepal Mountaineering Association School is located. A further walk through the meadows takes to you Braga, where the region’s oldest and most interesting Gompa (monastery), believed to be at least 500 years old, is situated. Another hour on the trek from Braga, and you would reach Manang, the destination for the day. Manang, a village of a little over 200 densely situated flat-roofed houses with prayer flags on long poles over them, offers best views of the Annapurna’s, Gangapurna and a glacial lake below it.

- day 10Rest day in Manang (3540m)
- Day ten marks a leisure day for acclimatization to the altitude in the area. After ample rest, one can visit around the village in the afternoon, experience the village and take some breath taking photographs.Stay overnight at Manang.
- day 11Trek from Manang to Churilatter (4200m, Duration: 4 hrs)
Shortly after breakfast, the trek begins towards Charuilatter. 30 minutes underway and you would reach Tengi. Tengi, which offers basic accommodation to travelers, is the point where the hard climb of about an hour begins to reach Ghunsang, offering magnificent views of Gangapurna and Annapurna III across the Manang Valley. Another gradual climb for an hour takes you to Yak Kharka, where you will be able to view Yaks grazing in the pastures. This trail in Annapurna continues through the meadows with grazing Yaks on it, to finally reach Churilatter after an hour.

- day 12Trek from Churilatter to Thorung Phedi (4450m, Duration: 3-4 hrs)
Shortly after breakfast, the trek continues towards an arduous climb for three hours to reach Thorung Phedi, the foot of Thorung La pass. The rest of the day is free for leisure and acclimatization, to make ready for a tough trail in Annapurna belt for the upcoming day.

- day 13Trek from Thorung Phedi to Thorung La (5416m AMSL) to reach Muktinath (3800 m AMSL, Total duration: 7-8 hrs)
After an early breakfast, the team sets off for the toughest trail of the whole Annapurna trek. Beginning with the ascent of a steep path immediately after the last lodge at Thorung Phedi, the route gradually loses steepness as you gain altitude. Passing many small cairns built by the travelers as a mark for future visitors, the trip in Annapurna extends towards a stream after crossing a small valley. The climb then continues for 4-5 hours until you reach a large Chorten, which then leads you to markings on the top of the icy pass, Thorung La, passing through some prayer flags after a short duration. The view from Thorung La in Annapurna includes two peaks rising up from the saddle of the pass. To the north is Yakawa Kang (6482 m AMSL) and to the south is the Khatung Kang (6488 m). The magnificent view of the Kaligandaki Valley of Annapurna can also be seen far below.
The trip from Thorung La to Muktinath is a gradual downhill path, which gets steep and you pass within about 50 m of a large glacier. Passing through a few Yak-herders huts, the steep trail continues downwards, crossing a stream to reach another collection of huts. Strolling through the trail along the meadows, you finally reach Muktinath in about 4 hours. The trail offers magnificent views of Mount Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world, standing 8167 m tall above sea level.Stay overnight at Thorung La.

The day Fourteen of the Annapurna trip marks a leisure day, offering you plenty of rest. If interested, on offer is the visit to the beautifully walled temple complex of Muktinath. Muktinath is a temple dedicated to the Hindu deity; Lord Vishnu, and has been attracting Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims all year round.

- day 15Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2710m, Duration: 5-6 hrs)
The trip continues towards Jomsom, shortly after breakfast in Muktinath. The trail leads through the meadows down to some interesting places, including Kagbeni, Ranipauwa and Jharkot. The trail becomes a gentle downhill trek. Three hours after departure from Muktinath, and you would reach Kagbeni. The trail from Kagbeni to Jomsom passes through the Kaligandaki River banks, offering magnificent views and beautiful landscapes. The landform in Annapurna now gradually changes into barren fields with heavy wind blowing from all directions. Jomsom is about three hours from Kagbeni, following the windy fields. The tram halts at Jomsom for the night.

- day 16Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (Duration: 20 mins) then again fly to Kathmandu
The trip comes to an end with a short but enthralling flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. The 20 minute scenic flight offers great views of the Himalayan Ranges including the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri ranges. Upon arrival at the airport, check in and board flight to Kathmandu. After arrival transfer to Hotel. Later in the evening enjoy Farewell Dinner.

- When is the best time to go to Annapurna Circuit trek?
The ideal seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is clear and stable.
- How hard is Annapurna Circuit Trek?
Annapurna Circuit Trek is a longer trek in Nepal that covers many destinations in the Annapurna Region. This trek normally takes around 15-22 days to complete making it one of the difficult treks. Remember to exercise and keep yourself fit before embarking on this trek.
- Is there any risk of altitude sickness?
As this trek goes as high as 5,400 meters to Thorong La Pass – which is as high as Everest Base Camp itself, there is a high risk of an altitude sickness. Make sure to take rest days and acclimatize enough in the high altitude. Take it slow and savour the moments.
- Do I need trekking permits?
Yes, you’ll need a TIMS card and an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) to trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal.
- Is there Internet on the trek?
There are internet services available in many trekking regions, but in high altitude due to bad weather conditions network may not be available for several days. So, make sure to connect to your friends your family in lower regions where networks are easily available.
- Are there ATMs and bank services along the route?
There are very limited facilities of ATMs along the trekking regions. So, its better if you take enough cash from the ATMs of Kathmandu and Pokhara.
