How do I go to Nepal ?

Tribhuwan International airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal that can make you fly directly to Nepal from your homeland. What kind of climate is there in Nepal ?

Nepal has a diverse climate with four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn

Winter season generally starts from November and lasts till February. The temperature almost falls to a minimum of zero during night hours , but during day time the temperature can still reach up to 20 degree centigrade.

Spring season lasts from March to May. The temperature is around 22 degree centigrade with rain showers.

Summer season starts from June and lasts till August. This is the monsoon season with heavy rainfall in most parts of the country. The season is difficult and uncomfortable for trekking.

From September to November is the best and popular season for trekkers, The Autumn . The temperature is cool and sky is clear . The rainfall is minimum during the season .

What is Mountain sickness ?

Mountain sickness generally occur when travelers are drawn to high altitude place( more than 3000m). Mountain sickness is also called as altitude sickness primarily consists of severe headache due to deficiency of oxygen. The major symptoms of Mountain sickness are: Headache, Vomiting, Nausea, Sleepiness, Confusion, Dizziness, Weakness, Heavy Legs, Breathing Irregularity.

In case of appearance of any of the given symptoms, stop and relax and drink fluids frequently. The best remedy for altitude sickness is to descend to Lower elevation immediately. Do not ascend to higher altitude once you recognize the symptoms of Altitude sickness.

What are the different Health Tips for Travelers ?
Avoid mosquito bites . You can use mosquito repellents while traveling to rural areas and smaller cities.
While you are in outdoor activities be aware of dogs and monkeys.
Use boiled, sterilized or bottled water. Avoid drinking from unknown sources.
Keep packets of Oral-dehydration solution with you.
Carry some multivitamins, cold and flu tablets, lozenges for sore throat and nasal decongestants, particularly if you are on a long trip.
Carry a first-aid kit.
It is advised to use sun screening lotions with high SPF, sunglasses and hats to protect your skin from sun burn.
