Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
The ACAP is mandatory for all trekkers visiting the Annapurna region. It helps fund conservation projects, supports local communities, and ensures that trekking activities are environmentally sustainable. The permit can be obtained at the ACAP office in Kathmandu or Pokhara, and trekkers will need to carry it at all times during the trek.
Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Card
The TIMS card is a tracking and safety measure for all registered trekkers in Nepal. It allows authorities to monitor trekkers’ movements and ensures quick assistance in case of emergencies. There are two types: individual TIMS for solo trekkers and group TIMS for trekkers in organized groups.
Responsible Tourism Guidelines
While trekking, it is crucial to respect local culture, traditions, and the environment. Avoid littering, follow designated trails, and minimize disturbances to wildlife and communities. Responsible tourism ensures that future generations can also enjoy the pristine beauty of the Annapurna region.
Best Time to Trek:
The optimal seasons for the Royal Trek are March to May and September to November, when the weather is clear and the trails are in good condition.
