Trip Information
Why Choose the Simikot Kailash Trek?
1. A Unique Overland Pilgrimage Route:
Starting from Simikot in the remote Humla region of Nepal, the route passes through ancient trade paths, high passes, and dramatic Himalayan landscapes before entering Tibet. It is one of the most immersive and spiritually rewarding ways to reach Mount Kailash.
2. Deep Spiritual Significance:
Mount Kailash is sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers. A kora (circumambulation) around the mountain is believed to cleanse lifetimes of karma. The trek also includes a dip in the sacred Lake Manasarovar, said to purify the soul.
3. Remote, Authentic Experience:
Unlike the more commercial routes, Simikot offers a raw Himalayan trekking experience through isolated villages, monasteries, and culturally Tibetan regions of Nepal.
4. Cross-Border Himalayan Adventure:
This trek combines two incredible destinations: the mystic landscapes of western Nepal and the spiritual magnetism of Tibet, all while crossing dramatic high-altitude terrain.
